What would life without salt be like? Boring and flat, right?

Salt not only enhances the flavors of foods, savory and sweet alike, but also provides essential trace minerals. Provided, of course, you use a healthy, minimally-processed salt like Wildly Organic Pink Himalayan Salt.

Did you know? “…table salt is highly refined and devoid of minerals. Did you know that salt isn’t naturally white? White salt has been refined so that all the minerals, except sodium chloride, are removed — then iodine is added back in.” – From The Different Types of Salt + The Problems With Table Salt

Yikes! Minerals are essential to all the body’s processes. Additionally, with the continued depletion of our soils there’s no guarantee that the foods we consume contain enough of these vital minerals.

Give the Gift of Salt!

What better way to say “I love you”  (and “I care about your health”) than with a set of handcrafted, seasoned salts? There are so many ways you can flavor Wildly Organic’s healthy, mineral-rich salts!

Simply choose your favorite herbs and spices and mix up some salty magic in minutes. Next, package them in beautiful jars or shakers, nestle in a box of pretty tissue paper, and wrap your gift. Check the names off your list with these simply DIY seasoned salt gift jars!

The Difference Between Seasoned Salt and Finishing Salt

Seasoned salts are perfect for adding flavor to recipes. Sprinkle, or measure, these fine-textured salts into soups, stews, dips, and more.

In contrast, finishing salts are a bit different. Sprinkle these large-grained salts onto roasted meats, veggies, or more for beautiful and spectacular finish to your dish.

Seasoned Salt Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving

If you have foodies in your life they’re sure to appreciate a tasteful gift. See what I did there? 😉

Since they also love to give, you just might find yourself rewarded with a meal made with your beautiful homemade DIY seasoned salt gift jars! Consequently, everyone is happy, and healthier, thanks to your thoughtful gift of seasoned salts.

Instructions
For the 3 Seasoned Salts
  1. Combine salt and seasonings and mix well.
  2. Package in jars, shakers, or other pretty containers for gift giving.
For the Finishing Salt
  1. Add all ingredients to the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Pulse until peppercorns are as finely processed as you like. Be careful not to overprocess the salt to keep the grains large.
  3. Alternatively, use a mortar and pestle to crush the peppercorns (and salt if you want it a bit smaller-grained) to desired texture, then mix with the salt and lemon zest.
  4. Package for gift giving!
Recipe Notes

For the Chipotle Salt I recommend 1 1/2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder for a milder version, 2 to 3 teaspoons for hotter, and if you want wicked hot, add more than 3 teaspoons.
